June Gloom or Pride. Flip a Coin
So, we’re a few days into June. The good news, Karen Bass is leading the LA mayoral race, so odds are the city won’t be run by a reality TV idiot. The bad news, the MMA fight on the White House lawn is still on, so the nation is still run by a reality TV idiot.
Looks like trump is caught sleeping at more and more meetings. I like him sleeping. If he’s sleeping, he may have fewer “ideas”. His MMA fighter in charge of Homeland Secretary has an idea. Yeah, ole Markwayne wants to shut down customs in sanctuary cities. Great idea: no international travel to NY, LA, SF, Chicago or Newark to name a few. Fantastic now everyone coming for the World Cup can see Tulsa or Lincoln, Nebraska.
Oh, gas prices are still climbing. That’s always nice heading into summer.
Ok, enough bad news. The courts have stopped the idea of paying J6 criminals with trump’s $1.8 billion slush fund. A judge has them removing trump’s name from the Kennedy Center and I’m betting the trump $250 billion won’t be happening.
The Knicks and Spurs are in the NBA finals. Old school team the Knicks vs the best player in the world Victor Wembanyama. Btw, he’s only 22. I dunno what you were doing at 22, but I wasn’t leading a team into the NBA finals.
It’s Pride month. That’s great because people should be allowed to live openly and love however they want. In a perfect world we wouldn’t have to say that. It would just be the norm. Maybe one day.
Juneteenth is also coming in spite of rt wing dreams of destroying it. Funny they want to end the holiday honoring the end of Slavery. That tells you about how far they’ve moved mentally and emotionally.
Barack Obama Museum is open in Chicago. That’s a nice reminder of what we once did as a nation. We did good.
Vegas Knights vs Carolina Hurricanes. I don’t know hockey, but the Knights are the bad boys and Vegas local team so I’m with them.
Finally, Summer starts this month. Get out and have some fun. I was at Americade bike rally the last week of May. Hundreds maybe thousands of motorcycles, riders, rides, demo bikes, shows. A great week. A friend of mine named Phil was there. I hung out with Phil. He was just making friends, laughing, talking. He’s genuinely positive. Now I can’t be Phil, but he taught me about being positive and enjoying the moments. We talked about some news and politics. He’s aware of the mess we’re in but it didn’t bring him down. Maybe we can all learn.
I’m gonna let myself have some fun.
